"What's Better?" Quarterfinal 1: Redick v Ritz

Today's quarterfinal match pits one winner that went through unopposed and one of the higher vote getters in the first round. Incidentally I drew all the winners out of a hat to have a totally random draw for the the second round.

So today's question is, "What's Better?": J. J. Redick or "Puttin' on the Ritz"?

Ritz, definitely. Duke....blech.

Redick is fine (even though I'm a UNC-CH fan), but can't beat Astaire in grace or debonnairete (is that a word?). Definitely RITZ.

This is a tough one. I mean Redick does have, what, three ACC championships?

Do I lose my Duke fanboy status if I admit (now that he's gone) that he is a teeny, tiny bit goofy looking?

Against Riddick, I tried the substitution logic, and if I did it here, it would seem to point to Redick. If J.J. were to do "Puttin' on the Ritz," you'd have Dancing With the Stars II, but if Astaire tried to break the NCAA record for three pointers?

All signs point to Redick....and yet....there is something so elegant, so full of panache about Puttin' on the Ritz.

Astaire had Ginger Rogers, but Redick had Shelden Williams (who actually got drafted higher than he did). Hmmm, did Astaire do his own choreography? (I doubt Redick wrote his own plays) Maybe, but that's not quite the same as writing the music, is it.

I imagine Astaire's footwork is better, but I think J.J. gets the nod for endurance.

I think I'm gonna have to go with Redick in a buzzer beater, but I'm not exactly confident that vote will stand up.
