Here's a battle of two works that generally are well respected amongst people whom I otherwise consider sane.
I got about 1/2 way through 24 Season 1 and found it outlandishly silly. I watched Se7en and found it morbidly gross. Yet each work has passionate fans that insist that it elevates the genre it inhabits.
So I ask, "What's Better?"
24 or
Se7en?

Se7en, no question. 24 is decent popcorn TV, but Se7en, for all that it is in fact gross, is a great film.
Seven is a GREAT movie.
I couldn't finish watching Se7en. The first season of 24 was gripping--and even better on DVD.
Seven, though seeing it once was plenty.
Se7en.
The lighting alone puts this thing way out front, but then Kevin Spacey!! (and I don't mean the Kevin Spacey of Kpax and Pay it Forward and ugh David Gale) I mean the KS of Usual Suspects, Swimming with Sharks, The Big Kahuna, and Glen Gerry, Glen Ross.
Add me for Se7en
Another vote for Se7en.
I guess I cast my vote for 24, though it looks like another where I'm on the losing side.
