Congratulations to coach Dale Steele and his Campbell University Football team for their first victory Saturday. The Fighting Camels defeated Carthage 36-27 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to break the Red Men's streak of 16 consecutive non-conference victories. May it be the first of many.

Randel El vs. Ted E. Bear
Hypothetical situation:
Antwaan Randel El is on one goal line looking to go the length of the field for a score.
A hungry bear is on the fifty yard line.
Who you got?
(And if you've got the bear, are you, like Senator Hillary Clinton, evoking a secret hope that it will happen?)

My New Favorite College Football Team...
...is whoever is playing Clemson.
I don't have a child, but if I did, could I imagine any coach I would less want that child to play for than Tommy Bowden? (Maybe Dave Bliss, but that could be a toss up.)

Annual Snarky Sports Post
I had about as good a long weekend as a Washington Redskins fan staring at a 5-11 season could have.
What an excrutiatingly painful way for the Cowboys to exit. One can only hope that they will bring Terrell Owens back and that Parcells will have had enough.
Oh, and it looks like we finally settled that arguement about who is truly deserving of being called the second best college football team this year--that would be The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Plus, Campbell won its conference home opener in double overtime. Go fighting Camels.
